Armie Hammer Speaks

After two long years of silence, Hammer shares his story.

It was January, 2021, when #Cannibal first began trending on Twitter and Armie Hammer’s world changed forever.

It is now February, 2023, and but for one early brief statement refuting the allegations against him, Hammer has remained largely silent on all that has transpired, giving no public statements, interviews, or comments to media.

His silence has been an especially striking backdrop to a crescendo of allegations, particularly from Effie, the accuser behind the @HouseofEffie Instagram and Twitter accounts who began the deluge. Effie was eventually joined by several women —Paige Lorenze, Courtney Vucekovich, Jessica Ciencin-Henriquez, and Julia Morrison— whom Hammer dated following his divorce from ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers. Unlike Effie, none of the women made any formal allegations against Hammer, but their stories of consensual BDSM that they appeared to later regret served to further the negative public perception against him.

To add a further element of despair for Hammer, CNN revealed that his now ex-wife, Chambers, was behind much of the negative press Hammer has received, posing as a friend to sell private videos of Hammer to tabloids and sending lurid stories. It surfaced that Chambers also coordinated with Effie to defame and publicly smear Hammer, and was responsible for introducing Effie to lawyer Gloria Allred. Chambers, with Effie’s assistance, also seems to have coordinated with some of the other women Hammer dated, like Paige Lorenze, in what can more aptly be described as a deliberate attempt at public character assassination. Chambers herself stated in her communication with Effie that she was motivated by a desire to obtain full custody of the divorced couple’s two children.

Hammer, for his part, focused on the only thing he could change as the world spiraled around him, himself, entering a Florida facility for assistance with substance use issues and help with trauma; he has, as we earlier noted, remained otherwise stoically uncommunicative. Until now.
